Irrisept Antimicrobial Wound Lavage Debridement & Cleansing System
Irrisept is an easy-to-use, robust, and versatile wound irrigation device.
Combat wound infections in a prolonged care environment are a major risk to Warfighter survivability and their ability to return to duty, posing a significant burden to an Army Health System that has little to no capacity for significant periods of time during Multi‐Domain Operations. Research has shown that greater than 30% of all combat wounds become infected. That percentage is expected to rise in a prolonged care environment, hence integrated interventions provided by Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) providers at the point of injury are critically important to diminish the occurrence of infection in battlefield wounds.
Irrisept® Antimicrobial Wound Lavage is intended for mechanical cleansing and removal of debris, dirt and foreign materials, including microorganisms from wounds.
•50-80% reduction in infection in a variety of procedures
•CHG is a positively charged Cat-ion which binds to negatively charged human tissue
•It is attracted to negatively charged bacteria, disrupting the bacteria cell membrane
•CHG is commonly used in hospital burn treatment and trusted by more than 2,000 US Hospitals
